From drafting a research question and conducting an online search to ranking source materials, graduates of this course will develop practical skills that will start them down the path of becoming independent investigators. 

Detecting Fraud in Licensure Applications

This course provides education on how to perform a rigorous, high-quality verification and authentication process for identification of proactive strategies to detect fraudulent applications and materials through eleven Policy Considerations and ten Safe Practices.

Foundations of APRN Regulation in the United States

This course will provide a foundational education about the regulation of APRNs and help prepare practicing APRNs to provide safe care within their scope of practice, protect the APRN license and advocate for the profession.

Introduction to Disciplinary Investigations

The course will also provide examples of how specific types of cases may be investigated including the use of an investigative plan and data collection. The significance of and mechanisms for communicating the investigatory findings will also be discussed.

NPDB - National Practitioner Data Bank

To maintain public safety, employers need current information on a health care practitioner’s ability to practice safely. The National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) is a web-based repository that provides confidential information that employers may query to review whether a license is encumbered by a regulatory board action as well as review any reports of malpractice payments or other credentialing results.

Principles of Nursing Board Governance

This program is an introduction to concepts of governance and regulation as they apply to nursing regulatory bodies and individuals charged with safeguarding public safety, health and welfare through nursing regulation and nursing education.
