For nurse regulators around the world, the FRS credential signifies outstanding achievement in regulation and advancing the profession. Inductees will be recognized for their accomplishments and will have the opportunity to engage with NCSBN on future ICRS endeavors.

Application Requirements

Only the information provided within the application will be utilized when selecting the fellows. Applicants must submit their CV, writing prompt and two letters of recommendation in order to apply.


Writing Prompt

Double spaced and typed in Times New Roman 12-point font

  • Summary Statement: In 50 words or fewer, summarize your enduring and substantial contributions to nursing regulation.
  • Personal Essay: In 1,000 words or less, describe your career achievements and how you have made a lasting impact on nursing regulation. Focus on how your actions have promoted long lasting change at the state, federal and/or international levels and on the legacy of your work.

Letters of Recommendation

Submit two letters of recommendation addressing the following:

  • Why: Explain why the sponsor supports this individual.
  • Examples: Provide detailed examples that convincingly illustrate how the applicant has led to enduring and substantial contributions to nursing regulation throughout their career at the state, federal and/or international levels.
  • Impact: Include an overall opinion of the applicant and their impact.
